  • The Well-being Committee, led by Drs. Lauren Licatino and Teeda Pinyavat
    • No Updates

  • The Faculty Development Committee, led by Drs. David Young and Titilopemi Aina
    • Updates:
      • Our main goal is to foster a life-long progression in medical education for the entire SEA membership. We achieve this predominantly through the development of appropriate themed workshops, an individualized mentorship program, and offering peer coaching of teaching skills to all the faculty workshop members.
    • The Upcoming Spring Meeting (2026): Our Faculty Development programs include –
      • Academic Promotion: The SEA Mentorship Program is an experienced group of SEA educational leaders offering to serve as mentors to all SEA members. The SEA Mentorship website https://www.seahq.org/mentorship-program has detailed information regarding the mentorship program, application process, as well as mentor profiles.
      • Peer Coaching: The SEA Faculty Development Committee offers all faculty of SEA Meetings a personal “Peer Coach”. Having a peer coach will allow you to receive support and guidance with teaching activities such as facilitating a workshop. The SEA Peer Coaching website can be found at https://www.seahq.org/peer-coaching and provides additional information on the Program as well as access to our SEA Peer Coaching Worksheet.

  • The Educational Meetings Committee, led by Drs. Kristin Ondecko Ligda and Barbara

    • Updates:
      • The SEA Simulation Committee continues to be actively engaged in advancing simulation education through external collaborations and programming at SEA events. Current and upcoming initiatives include:

  • The Membership Committee, led by Drs. Meredith Kingeter and Monica Bhutiani
    • Updates:
      • Over the past six months, the Membership Committee has been hard at work advancing the Society for Education in Anesthesia’s mission and visibility. Our major accomplishments have been:
        • The development of the SEA Grand Rounds list - This is a list of Grand Rounds topics, both related and unrelated to education, that our members are willing to give. This will serve as a valuable resource for our members and the broader anesthesia education community, as well as offering promotable opportunities.
        • SEA now ranks as the top result when searching for anesthesia education on Google – a significant milestone in enhancing our online presence.
        • We are actively exploring strategies to understand our membership trends and engage new audiences. Leveraging opportunities with SAAAPM could be a promising avenue for outreach in the future.

  • The IMPACT Committee, led by Drs Tracey Straker and Herodotos Ellinas
    • No Updates

  • The Medical Student Education Committee, led by Drs. Christine Vo and Rebecca Nause-Osthoff
    • Updates:
      • The Committee continues to expand its national impact through several key initiatives, including the successful pilot launch of a Medical Student Clerkship Directors Track at the 2025 SAAAPM Annual Meeting, featuring interactive roundtable discussions, live audience polling, and a career development panel tailored to medical student educators. Members of the SEA MSE committee are welcome to be involved in planning for the 2026 SAAAPM session. This year, the committee is also prioritizing curriculum resource sharing, with efforts underway to develop a free, centralized online curriculum accessible to institutions nationwide as well as sharing current medical student rotation practices.

  • The Graduate Medical Education Committee, led by Drs. Emily Stebbins and Maurice "Frankie" Joyce
    • Updates:
      • The Committee has continued participation in the PD/APD Facebook group
      • The committee continues to share information with its members and the Society about educational opportunities. These opportunities include the SEA new PD/APD workshop by the AACPD and the SPA Wellness Curriculum.

  • The Publications Committee, led by Dr. Onyi Onuoha
    • Updates:
      • The Committee recruited a total of 9 members (see SEA website) during the last Spring & Fall 2025 Meetings. This has led to a productive year where we were able to conduct virtual meetings and maintain open lines of communication among members, especially with the recently published newsletter. The newsletter provides updates on SEA activities, events, existing programs, upcoming initiatives and more. This is an avenue to share content that aligns with SEA’s mission to advance the best practices of education in Anesthesia. We have continued to present content with several recurring themes – President's contributions, meeting summaries, committee goals and vision statements, reflections from global health traveling fellowship participants, coaching opportunities and much more. Debuting in this Spring Newsletter is a Research Corner called “Hot-Off-the Press”. Thanks to the Research Committee and the Co-Editors-in-Chief of JEPM (Journal of Education in Perioperative Medicine), for coming on board with this idea and taking the lead on this effort. We highlight 1-2 papers in each Newsletter that every educator should know to enhance the teaching, administrative, or evaluative skills in their Toolbox. Coming soon is the addition of more exciting content and an effort to re-design the format of the Newsletter to optimize the newsletter's visual appeal and readability
